Convergence: noun. The point where two or more things come together for the same purpose. This exhibit features the work of three women of varying experience and age. Their work represents a conscientious exploration of traditional media and styles.
Grace Ainsworth is pursuing a degree in fine arts at MSU Texas with a focus on painting and graphic design. Grace also enjoys honing her skills in other mediums such as ink and charcoal. The focus of her work is dedicated to bringing awareness to social issues and the understanding of differing perspectives.
Cheryl Hazelton lives and works in Burkburnett, TX. She works in stained glass, paint, textiles, and other media. Most recently she exhibited at the Red River Valley Museum and Breckenridge Fine Arts Center. She was awarded the Mary Ann McCuistion Award for her Flower Lady at Red River Valley Museum.
Emily Smith is a tattoo artist at Burial Tattoo in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from MSU Texas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She began tattooing in August of 2022 and has developed a passion for Japanese and American Traditional tattooing. At the beginning of 2024 she made a New Year’s resolution to create one painting a week for the year. Her process reflects the skills and techniques used in creating flash tattoos.
