Alana Reeder: March 14 - May 10
Artist Reception
Thursday, March 27
5:30 - 7:00 PM
Alana Reeder is a self-taught acrylic artist and local girl. Her vibrant use of acrylic on canvas does not speak solely to an upbeat narrative and rather embraces the full spectrum of human emotions. Each brushstroke is a testament to the richness of life, encompassing moments of joy, sorrow, longing, and everything in between. Through her art, Alana encourages viewers to embrace the fullness of their own emotional landscapes, finding beauty in the complexity of their feelings.
Balancing the roles of motherhood, nurse, martial artist, and artist, Alana navigates the delicate dance between nurturing her family and pursuing her creative dreams. Inspired by the desire to show her daughter the power of perseverance and self-expression, she strives to carve out space for her art amidst the demands of daily life. For Alana being a mother is a source of inspiration and motivation to continue chasing her dreams.
In Alana's vibrant canvases, viewers will find a reflection of their own inner worlds—a reminder that no emotion is too big or too small, and that through art, we can find solace, connection, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other.
