Storytelling with Toni Simmons

Sounds of Speedway: Storytelling with Toni Simmons

Our workshop and performance is perfect for aspiring storytellers of all kinds or those who just love a good story.

PERFORMANCE at THE FORUM

Toni’s diversified background gives her the poise, confidence and adaptability to entertain audiences of all walks of life with multicultural oral traditions. She takes you on an odyssey to other countries where you explore different cultures with her unique and spirited versions of familiar tales. These tales “come to life” as listeners become part of her stories with carefully orchestrated rhythms, chants and movements.

WORKSHOP at WFMA

In conjunction with the Wichita Falls Museum of Art exhibition, Dwelling: Experiences of Shelter, we invite you to learn how to tell your story of home with Toni Simmons, and if you choose, to record your story for StoryCorps! The workshop will cover tips and techniques of storytelling. There will be demonstrations and practice, which will include lots of participation, plus a follow up practice session with Ms. Simmons.
